Mr. Robert Hamm

Proud Principal

As the proud principal of Richmond Drive Elementary School, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. This is my 17th year in Rock Hill School District where I spent seven years as an assistant principal at Independence Elementary, 6 years as an assistant principal at Saluda Trail Middle School and 4 years as the program teacher at Finley Road Elementary. Prior to coming to RHSD, I was a teacher in the Horry County School District for 8 years.

I graduated from South Carolina State University with an Educational Specialist degree in School Leadership and a Master’s and Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Coastal Carolina University.

I believe that education is a collaborative process. I am committed to working closely with faculty, staff, community members, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. I am excited for this year and look forward to welcoming students back on campus on August 8th. Please feel free to reach out if you have comments, concerns, or questions.

Mr. Joshua Bovill

Assistant Principal

Mr. Bovill brings a wealth of experience and passion for education to his role as Assistant Principal. He previously served as the Dean of Student Leadership at Old Pointe Elementary and as a Business Education and Robotics teacher in York School District One, where he was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2022.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Bovill is a published author of two books and a dedicated family man. He and his wife, Charley, who teaches at Castle Heights Middle School, are the proud parents of three children: Joshua Jr. (11), Nahla (4), and Jason (2).

Mr. Bovill is excited to join the Richmond Drive community and looks forward to continuing his mission of empowering students, supporting teachers, and building strong partnerships with families.
